Job description:
The students are English majors. The class size is usually around 30. Foreign teachers will teach 16 hours every week, usually more than one course. The courses might be oral English, writing, western culture, literature, reading and listening etc.
Right now our school is recruiting the last one foreign teacher (we have 6 already). For the new semester which begins at August 29, this last foreign teacher can have two options of courses:
Option 1: American literature (1 class, teach twice every week) + English novel reading (2 classes) + Oral English (4 classes)
Option 2: Writing (3 classes) + English prose reading (1 class of 60 students) + Oral English (4 classes)
All the other courses have been allocated to the other foreign teachers as it is rather late now.
We teach 16 weeks every semester and than have the final exams. Teachers will need to prepare final exam papers and grade them.
Salary:
For foreign teachers with bachelor’s degree, the salary is 8 300 yuan. If you have a master’s or doctor’s degree, you can get higher than that.
There is no airfare reimbursement.
For accommodation, the university provides an apartment of about 30 square meters on campus, and you will need to pay about 800 yuan for rental. If you live outside, there is no accommodation subsidy. (The rental for the apartment on campus might seem a little high but for an apartment like that outside the campus, you have to pay at least 1 400.)
The contract goes from September 1 to July 15 of the following year. For winter holiday, you can get full pay and for July you get half month’ salary. No salary for August. |

Job description:
The students are mostly English major undergraduates (in some cases non-English major graduate students or undergraduates). The class size is usually around 30. Foreign teachers will teach 16 hours (45 minutes per hour) every week, usually more than one course (usually two).
The courses might be oral English, writing, western culture, business English and occasionally literature, reading and listening etc. (Please note that you are expected to be capable of teaching not only basic oral English course, but also advanced courses like western culture, writing or literature though we will not force you to teach any one of them.)
A semester usually has 19 weeks. Teachers teach 16 weeks every semester (for graduate students it is 18 weeks) and then have the final exams. Teachers will need to prepare final exams and grade the test papers.
Our university is located in the downtown area of the city and has only one campus, so teachers needn’t go to the university town or another city to have class, as teachers in most other universities do.
Salary:
For foreign teachers with bachelor’s degree, the salary is 8 300 yuan (before income tax). If you have a master’s or doctor’s degree, you can get 8 600 (before income tax).
The university provides personal accident insurance, no medical insurance.
For accommodation, the university provides an apartment of about 30 square meters (a studio) on campus, which has a balcony, a kitchen and a bathroom, and you will need to pay about 800 yuan as rental. If you live outside, there is no accommodation subsidy. (The rental for the apartment on campus might seem a little high but for an apartment like that outside the campus, you have to pay at least 1 400.)

For an academic year that begins at September, the contract goes from September to July of the following year.
