Brief Introduction about Employer

We wanted to get in contact with you to see if you might be interested in teaching at our school. We are looking for several native English teachers to start immediately and in the next few months.

Our kindergarten is located in Wuxi, China (about 45 minutes from Shanghai by high-speed train). The school is well-equipped and the teachers are supported in the classroom with resources and assistance when needed. Our foreign teachers have a very supportive western management team.

The working hours are from 8-5, Monday to Friday (no weekends!!), with a break everyday from 12-2:30 for lesson planning and preparation. We require one 30-min English lesson each morning and afternoon and in the rest of time, classroom management and game/sports/music/art activities for children are the focus of the foreign head teacher. All Chinese national holidays are paid, and a few western holidays as well.

We provide competitive monthly salary, and plus a fully-furnished apartment located one block from the school (or elsewhere if you choose) or housing allowance. The school also offers lunch on working days, 2 weeks paid vacation, and travel allowance at the end of the contract.

We currently have more than 10 foreign teachers on board and offer any new teacher a pleasant working environment. The school provides several ESL programs for you to use, including DVDs and CDs, and teachers are free to make lessons as they wish. We also offer yoga class and Mandarin lessons for free once a week, and once a month the school sponsors a dinner or social excursion for the foreign teachers.

Wuxi is less than an hour from Shanghai, has a small-town feel, but also has all the modern, western conveniences and restaurants found in larger cities. There are several international areas scattered throughout the city that include lots of coffee shops and pubs, as well as historical places to visit. There is no traffic in Wuxi, public transportation is abundant and cheap, and the cost of living is nearly half of what you will find in Shanghai or Beijing.

In addition to this position we are also looking for a Golf trainer to teach kids aged between 5 to 12 basic golf skills. Golf trainers would work either Saturday or Sunday (or both if they liked) as well as teaching English in the kindergarten during the week. Golf classes would be conducted in English and would utilize our outdoor 18 hole mini golf course and indoor simulator. Please specify in your application whether you would like to be considered for this position as well.

Visa requirements include...

1) native English speaker from New Zealand, Australia, America, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, or the UK.

2) a university bachelor’s degree

3) 1-2years teaching experience or a TEFL certificate (we may be able to arrange participation in a TEFL accrediting course for you if this last criteria is not met)
