  Ratified by Zhejiang Provincial Government in 1999, and approved by the State Education Ministry in 2004, This College of Zhejiang University of Technology is a comprehensive independent college administrated by Zhejiang University of Technology.

  Covering an area of over 20 hectares with a total floor space of 160,000 m 2 , This College is located at the picturesque Hangzhou Zhijang National Tourism Vacation Zone. Of the 479 faculty members, 35.5% are professors or associate professors. The library building, with a floor space of 13,000 m 2 , possesses a collection of over 360,000 volumes. The total value of teaching facilities in the college counts more than 40 million RMB. The computer center, equipped with 1,500 computers, provides round-the-clock service for teachers and students. In addition, there are 10 audio-video laboratories, 43 multi-media classrooms, 21 scientific laboratories, and 47 practice bases available for the students.

  The college currently comprises 6 schools and 3 departments, including School of Business and Administration, School of Information Engineering , School of Humanities , School of Mechanical Engineering , School of Foreign Languages , School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Department of Art, Department of Science, Department of Physical Education and Military Training. The 25 undergraduate programs cover 6 research areas, namely, engineering, science, literature, law, management and economics. At present, there are nearly 7,500 registered undergraduates.

  Following the guiding principle of 3Rs, namely, “Relying on ZJUT, Remaining Independent and Retaining Uniqueness”, the college is dedicated to cultivate knowledgeable and creative talents with practical ability. Regarding teaching as its central task, it has been committing itself to deepen teaching reforms by focusing more on individualized instruction and to intensify the integration of teaching and practice, aiming to promote students' comprehensive qualities. The college spares no effort to recruit high-level scholars and appoint celebrated professors as academic leaders. Measures have been taken to enhance the academic atmosphere, such as designating tutors to freshmen, establishing funds for extracurricular activities, and holding various academic activities. A series of rewarding measures have also been adopted to reinforce the cultivation of excellent students. For example, outstanding students will be selected as candidates for ZJUT postgraduate programs or be recommended to go abroad for further study.

  Through six years of tough work, the teaching quality has been steadily improved and its social influence has been increasing. The students have already won 33 national prizes and 72 provincial prizes. The abilities and qualities of graduates have won wide recognition in the society.
