The Brief Introduction of This College
This College is a general comprehensive institute, founded in 1985 with approval of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It has both a three-year and a four-year school systems with the help of Guangxi University. It has provided 13,000 competent graduates and associate graduates for Wuzhou and its neighborhoods ever since. Up to Oct.2005, there are 9050 full-time students ( 3,081 students of four-year programs and 5430 students of three-year programs). In the past 20 years, more than 20 Party and State leaders, over 30 well-known experts and professors have visited the campus and advised on the running of the school. Li Zhaozhuo, vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, inscribed in his own handwriting the school motto of “becoming a famous university, and developing high-level talent”. Fei Xiaotong, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC, encouraged This College to apply for setting up an independent four-year-school-system college saying in a letter:“I will try my best to help with the application, and would like to be an honorary advisor of your school”. Xian Dingchang,member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, once made a special trip to This College to make an academic report. With the efforts of the faculties, the school has won the following honorary titles: An Advanced Unit for Material and Spiritual Civilizations Development in Wuzhou, An Advanced Party Organization at the Basic Level, one of the Civic Virtues Units in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, An Advanced Unit of Military Training for University Students in Guangxi, one of Grade A Units for Food Hygiene Supervision, Quantification and Selective Inventory Control in Guangxi, An Award for Excellence in Organization of the First National Artistic Performance for University Students, An Award for Excellence in Organization of Guangxi Artistic Performance for University Students, A Provincial Scientific and Public Institution for Managing Archives.

Beautiful Campus Environment
This College is situated in Wuzhou, a city in the east of Guangxi with a long history. Wuzhou is rich in cultural relics, and has always enjoyed the reputation of an ancient city with a history of more than 2000 years, a trading port with a history of more than 100 years, a city named as a palace on the waters in Lingnan area, a city honored as a brightly-shining pearl on the Xijiang River, a city known as little Hong Kong, and so on. Su Dongpo, a great writer in the Song Dynasty, visited Wuzhou twice and left a very beautiful line for the city, reading “the clear waters of the Yuanyang River eclipse those elsewhere”. The campus is crisscrossed with main roads of 18 meters wide. The symbolic buildings, i.e. the comprehensive teaching building, the library, the gymnasium, and the sports ground with shelter, etc. are among the best of their kinds in the institutions of higher education in Guangxi. Areas with different functions are naturally separated by the geological arrangement of small hills, and linked with each other by the tunnel and the main roads. The campus is quiet and arranged in good taste and it has a peculiar charm with green hills and clear waters, with willow trees and bright flowers, with snaking paths here and there.
Schooling Conditions
This College has realized its rapid development with an occupation area of 779.96 mu, among which 233,200 square meters are for students dormitory buildings and 128,800 square meters for teaching and administration buildings. What’s more, the value of the equipment for teaching instruments amounts to 34.56 million yuan (RMB) . The library has a collection of 55,300 books. In respect of human resources, there are 376 professional teachers, among whom 108 have advanced professional titles and 140 have master degrees.

Academic & Scientific Research
As far as academic and scientific research is concerned, we have our own characteristics, and have found our own way. In the field of basic theory research, the project of Studying the Lower Bounds for Ramsney Numbers, in which Su Wenlong, a research fellow, is the first participant, is a project of National Natural Science Foundation of China. Its serial research achievements have been included in the summary report of the international academic conference as the latest international record by the foreign experts. In the field of applied research to serve for Wuzhou, we have gained a great many influential achievements. The four projects, which were carried out jointly by our college, Wuzhou Science & Technology Bureau and enterprises and institutions of Wuzhou, won the advanced prizes in science and technology. Up to September 2005, 150 research projects have been authorized; 14 projects have won advanced scientific and technological prizes; 30 monographs and 10 textbooks as well as 1024 papers have been published, among which 214 papers (works) won prizes.
International Exchange
The establishment of the International Exchange Office of This College in 2004 marks the beginning of international education cooperation and exchange between our University and South-East Asian countries with the development of the China-ASEAN Trade Zone. Now, we have signed contracts of educational cooperation and exchange with more than 10 universities in Thailand and Vietnam. Led by GuangXi Education Department, the college delegation paid a visit to the Vietnam Education Exhibition in May, 2005, which came to a good result of enrolling our first 10 Vietnamese students in the autumn of 2005. We are doing our utmost to accommodate 200 foreign exchange students in 2010.

Students’ Quality
In order to enhance the students’ quality, our college is making great efforts to effect quality education with a focus on improving the student’s all-round quality. In recent years, our representative teams have made striking achievements in all kinds of undergraduate competitions held in Guangxi or nationwide. In 2002, our college won one first prize in Guangxi Zone and one national third prize of 2002 China Callisthenic Contest with 10000 participants; In 2003, three first prizes and two third prizes in Guangxi Zone of 2003 CCTV Cup English Speaking Contest and English Composition Contest; one special prize and one first prize in Guangxi Zone of FLEP Cup English Composition Contest; In 2004, the mascot designed by two students from the Art Department was adopted by the 14th National Book Fair and it was the only design adopted by the fair; In 2005, three first prizes in Guangxi Zone and two national second prizes and one national third prize in the 1st China Undergraduate Art Show; one first prize and two third prizes in Guangxi Zone of 2005 China Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest; one first prize in Guangxi Zone of China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling.
The graduates from our University enjoy great popularity in our society. In the past two years, the employment rate of our three-year-schooling graduates exceeds 85%, and quite a lot of our graduates have become the heads or key members of their units.
Bright Future
The prospect of This College is to become a multidisciplinary all-day regular university under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, meeting the needs of the economy and social development of Wuzhou and its neighboring regions as well, with intention to keep ahead in Guangxi, even in China on cultivating economic talent with the abilities of innovation, practical operation and doing scientific research, especially the economic talents capable of developing the Southeast Asian markets. According to the plan for 2010, the college will enroll 10,000 full-time students, of whom 8,000 four-year program undergraduates and 2,000 are three-year program undergraduates. The campus will cover an area of 1,660 mu with a building area of 250,000 square meters. The library collection will run to 100,000 volumes and the value of teaching equipment worth more than 50 million RMBYuan. The whole specialty system will consist of 18 undergraduate specialties and 10 vocational training specialties. There will be 560 full-time teachers, among whom 210 have master degrees and 190 have advanced professional titles.

Article 1
Both parties, in line with the principles of legality, fairness, equality, mutual agreement, honesty, and trustworthiness, on a voluntary basis, and in a spirit of friendly cooperation, agree to sign this contract and pledge to fulfill all the obligations stipulated hereinafter.
Article 2 Party B’s Job Descriptions
1. Party B works as an English Teacher as required by Party A, and is responsible for _English teaching for no more than 18 periods (45 minutes each) per week . Party B’s roles and responsibilities are subject to Party A’s adjustments which can be made according to Party A’s needs.
2. Party B is required to complete work assigned by Party A on time with good quality guaranteed.
Article 3 Duration of the Contract
1. The contract is effective for a period of 12 months,starting from the 1st day of September, 2012 to the 31st day of August, 2013. The first month is a probationary period, starting from the 1st day of September, 2012 to the 30th day of September, 2012.
2. Upon the expiration of the contract, the two parties can extend it after they reach agreement through consultation. They should sign a new contract which defines a new service period and rights and obligations of both sides.
Article 4 Payment and Benefits
1.Under normal circumstances Party A pays Party B a monthly pay of 4500 Yuan RMB per month. At the end of each semester Party B is granted a 1,100 Yuan RMB travelling allowance from Party A.
2.Party A deposits the monthly pay in Party B’s banking account starting from the month this contract signed, usually on the 15th of every month. In case Party A can not do it on time, it should inform Party B immediately. Such a delay can not exceed 30 days. Party A is exempt from liability if a delay is on the bank’s end.
3.The payment of Party B is taxable. Party B has the obligation to pay tax. Party A will deduct and pay tax on Party B’s behalf.
4. Party A does not provide Party B with various insurance benefits except the basic medical insurance for urban employees. Party B should purchase personal accident insurance on their own.
5.In case Party B fails to complete the work within a standard acceptable by
Party A, specifically, in terms of quality, quantity and time frame, Party A has the right to pay Party B in accordance with Party B’s actual performance.
6.Where Party B makes a serious mistake which causes severe economic losses to Party A, Party A has the right to make up for its losses with Party B’s remuneration. If Party B intentionally causes economic losses to Party A, Party B should pay compensation. If Party B’s acts constitute a criminal offense, Party B should take criminal responsibility.
7. If Party B suffers an illness or accidental injury during his/her service for Party A, Party’s B’s medical expenses and other related losses will be taken care of by his/her insurance company. Party A will not be responsible in this regard.
8. Party A shall pay the fare arising directly for international and domestic traffic for Party A's initial teaching term in Party A's place.
9. Party B shall be entitled to engaging Party A's national legal holidays and summer vacation and winter vacation arranged by Party A, and Christmas Day (December 25th) as well.
10. Party A provides Party B with a free furnished one-bedroom apartment. Party B shall have free water and Internet access but shall pay electricity, telephone and gas bills.
10. After the the contract is terminated or cancelled, Party B shall bear all the expenses incurred from his/her leaving or staying in China.
Article 5 Party A's Obligations
1. Party A shall inform Party B of relevant laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China as well as any institutions and administrative stipulations concerned with Party B's employment as herein provided.
2. Party A shall apply for employment and residence permits for foreign professionals and Foreign Expert Certificate.
3. Party A shall conduct regular supervision, inspection and review of Party B's working performance.
4. Party A shall provide Party B with necessary working and living conditions.
5. Party A shall deploy fellow staff for Party B for coordination affairs.
6. Party A shall pay Party B's salary as scheduled.
Article 6 Party B's Obligations:
1. Party B shall observe relevant laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China and shall not interfere in China's internal affairs.
2. Party B shall observe any institutions and administrative stipulations concerned with its employment, and shall be subject to Party A's arrangements, supervision, inspection and review of his/her working performance. Without Party A's consent, Party B shall not conduct any part-time job assigned by any other party.
3. Party B shall fulfill the tasks assigned to him/her with high standards within the prescribed time frame.
4. Party B shall respect China's religious policies, and shall not conduct any religious activities incompatible with his/her status as a foreign expert.
5. Party B shall respect Chinese people's ethics and customs.
Article 7 Renewal, Amendment and Termination of the Contract
1. When the contract expires, Party A and Party B can renew the contract upon agreement. Except those listed in a written agreement, the provisions in the contract remain unchanged.
2. The contract can be amended after the two parties reach agreement through consultation. All the provisions in the contract remain effective before an amendment is signed and takes effect.
3. The contract is terminated automatically if one of the following scenarios occurs:
3.1 The contract expires and Party A and Party B have not signed a new contract.
3.2 Party A is disqualified from running a school.
3.3 Party B dies or is declared dead or missing by the courts.
3.4 Because of force majeure, the contract can not be performed or there is
no need to perform the contract.
3.5 Parties agree on the termination of the contract through consultation.
3.6 Other circumstances under which the contract must be terminated as required by law or by the contract.
4.The contract may be canceled in the following circumstances:
4.1 Party A is entitled to rescind this contract if Party B seriously violates Party A’s rules and regulations. Party A has the right to ask Party B for compensation if Party B causes Party A economic losses.
4.2 Party A may rescind the contract if Party B proves unqualified for the job because of his/her health problems, incompetence, lack of knowledge, unconscientiousness and lack of team spirit. The contract may be canceled where the conditions under which the contract was signed have undergone major changes causing the contract to be ineffective. In this case, Party A shall give Party B a 30-day notice prior to cancellation which does not violate the contract.
4.3 Party B may rescind the contract by giving Party A a 30-day written notice
which does not violate the contract. But the exception is that Party B violates Party A’s work discipline and procedures and causes Party A to suffer major economic losses.
4.4 The contract may be terminated upon agreement between the two parties.
The parties will follow the contract if it provides how one party should take responsibility for breaking the contract. If the contract does not have such contents, no party will be responsible for termination of the contract. But if Party A pays for the training for Party B, they should still follow their agreement on training.
4.5 Circumstances occur under which the contract must be cancelled as
required by the contract.
5.Within 3 days after the contract is terminated or cancelled, Party B should go through all the procedures before departure concerning finance, equipment and job handover. Party A should settle accounts with Party B and pay Party B for his/her service, unless Party B has not paid full compensations for the economic losses it caused to Party A or Party B refuses to undergo handover procedures.
Article 8 Responsibility for Breaking the Contract
1. All parties involved in the contract should follow the contract in their best endeavor to fulfill their respective obligations. Any act or behavior that partially or fully conflicts with contractual obligations constitute a violation of the contract and the relevant parties should take responsibility.
2. The party who breaks the contract should take responsibility in accordance with the contract, or relevant laws if unspecified in the contract. If unspecified neither in the contract nor in the laws, a party has the right to demand compensation if the other party causes economic losses to it.
3. When either party fails to fulfill any part or all of the obligations as stipulated in this contract, that is, in the event of breach of the contract, the said party shall pay a breach penalty of twice as much as Party B's salary in RMB.
4. If the contract is canceled due to Party A’s violation, Party A should take responsibility in accordance with national laws.
Article 9 Force Majeure
1. Force majeure refers to unpredictable, unavoidable and uncontrollable natural occurrences or accidents, including earthquakes, fires, wars, floods, storms, epidemics, national state of emergency, and other incidents with consequences of which can not be prevented or avoided.
2. The contract may be discontinued if force majeure makes it impossible or meaningless to perform the contract and no party is responsible. Party A must pay Party B for the work Party B has done prior to the occurrence of force majeure.
3. In circumstances where force majeure directly affects the execution of the contract or makes it impossible for the contract to be effective under conditions agreed, the party that encounters force majeure should inform the other party with no delay and, within 15 days, present a detailed account of force majeure and a certificate giving the reasons why the contract can not be executed or has to be postponed. Such a certificate must be issued by the notary agency of the region where the force majeure occurs. The two parties will decide, through consultation, whether they will cancel the contract, or exempt part of their responsibilities, or postpone the execution of the contract.
Article 10 Solution to Disputes
Any dispute in connection with this contract shall be first of all settled between both parties concerned through friendly consultation. In case no settlement can be reached through consultations or intermediation, both parties shall submit the said dispute for arbitration with local personnel authorities or the local labour arbitration system. In case either party refuses to accept the arbitration award, it may bring an action before the people's court.
Article 11 Understanding of the contract
1. The contract is signed with the approval of both parties. It replaces all other oral or written agreements, contracts and MOUs that the two parties have previously reached or arrangements they have made.
2. The two parties agree that they know, understand and recognize all the words and contents of the contract and that they will obey and follow the contract completely.
3. During the implementation of the contract, if the two parties dispute over the contents of the contract, they should try to solve the issue through consultation in the spirit of honesty, sincerity, fairness and kind-heartedness.
Article 12 Others
1.The contract is effective as of the date when the two parties sign.
2. Chinese laws will apply to the implementation of the contract, consultation, procedures of solving disputes and substantive law.
3. The items not listed in the contract can be discussed between Party A and Party B and signed by them in a complementary agreement. In case of disparity between the complementary agreement and the contract, the complementary agreement prevails.
4. The appendixes of the contract are inalienable parts of the contract. The words put in the blanks and the characters printed in the contract and appendixes have the same purpose. The appendixes include
5. Items not listed in the contract, its appendix or complementary agreement should be dealt with in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and policies of the PRC. The contract is to be interpreted by the Foreign Staff Placement of Party A.
6. This contract is signed by both parties at Wuzhou, Guangxi, P.R. China (location) on this September 1st , 2012 (date). There are 2 original copies of the contract,with each containing a Chinese version and an English version. Both the Chinese version and the English version have the same legal binding force. Party A keeps one copy while Party B holds the other.
