This Institute is situated in Anyang, a northern city of Henan province which is famous for the discovery of the earliest Chinese characters, Jiaguwen (the inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells). It is in the south part of the city. There are 15000 full-time students studying and about 1000 faculties working on the campus, including 209 professors and associate professors.
It started its life as a 3-year diploma college in 1984 and became a 4-year degree institute in 2004. Although we are relatively young as far as universities go, with the local government support , we've taken the strengths to make great strides every year with its focus on high-quality teaching, innovation and vocational relevance and evolved over time to become a vibrant, forward-looking university.
It now offers 3-year diploma and 4-year bachelor degree programs and provides a range of educational opportunities in a variety of academic program areas, including Business and Management, Design and Technology, Agriculture and the Environment, Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering , Chemical Engineering, Computer science , Architecture , business, Management, Social Science , English. The integration of applied research into college programs enhances learning by providing faculty and learners with opportunities to address immediate real world problems leading to innovative solutions that help improve productivity.
The main campus, located in the developing zone of Anyang city about 10 minutes from the city centre, is set on almost 1070mu grassland. Being a single-campus university means that everything is available in the one location, with easy access to the full range of facilities and services. Our size means we can be truly student-centered, with smaller classes and individual attention. The campus is easy to get around and there is a strong sense of community amongst students and staff.
