Brief Introduction about This College
Located on the vigorous and dynamic land between the Yangshan Deepwater Port and Pudong International Airport, founded in the year 2001, is a full-time private college approved by Shanghai Municipal Government and accredited by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.
With a total investment of RMB 510 million Yuan，the college has the teaching area covers 304 mu. The construction area amounts to 220,000 square meters and the book storage amounts to more than 520,000 volumes. The college is operating under excellent conditions, including specialized training labs, a foreign language/business training center, computer labs, language labs, multimedia-equipped classrooms, a foreign language radio station, a campus cable TV system, and so on; and the total value of the equipments for teaching and experiment is approximately RMB 45 million Yuan. The college is also equipped with facilities such as advanced multi-functional sports center, international exchange center, modernized library, students’ apartments, canteens, standard playground and so on.
There are over 20 majors and nearly 30 specialties, including English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Korean,International Business, Logistic Management, Exhibition and Convention Planning and Management, Hotel Management, Tourism Management, Business Management, Secretarial Studies, Economic and Legal Affairs, E-commerce, Computer Science and Application, Computer Information Management, Computer Software Technology, PC Game Software Art Design, Movie Art and Cartoon, Industrial Design Technology, Application of Digital Control Technology, Integration of Mechanics and Electronics. Now there are nearly 6,500 students studying in the college.
The college holds a powerful teaching faculty, consisting more than 300 full-time teachers, with 30% professors and associated professors, 36% Doctors and Masters, among which 72.5% teachers are under the age of 45. Today the college has formed a main teaching faculty characterized in advantaged ages, full time and high-degrees. In the meanwhile, the college is also backboned by its teachers not only with bilingual talents but also with outstanding specialties.
Till 2007, nearly 8,000 students enrolled in the first four years since the establishment of the school have graduated, with over 95% employment in average, which ranks on the top of the list compared with its brother schools. The college took the lead in introducing the ISO9001:2000 International Quality Authentication System and it has passed the annual ISO certification tests during the past three years. As one of the constructing units of pilot higher vocational universities, the college won a series of honors such as: Excellent Unit in Enrollment by Educational Committee of Shanghai, Excellent Unit, Excellent Unit in Education during 2002-2005 in Nanhui District, Excellent Prize in ISO Management and so on. Inspired by the appeal of “second starting point”, aiming at “constructing the first-class non-state owned university in China”, the faculty and staff of the college are now steadily moving forward.
