This Agricultural University is a multi-disciplinary agricultural institute of higher learning under the administration of the government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. It covers the following areas of studies - science, engineering, agriculture, economics, management, liberal arts, law and medicine. Located on Nanchang Road, in the city of Urumqi, the university covers a total area of over 100 hectares. It has the reputation of being an exceptionally beautiful campus.
This Agricultural University is an academic institution with a strong history and a academic atmosphere. It was formerly known as August 1st Agricultural College, established on August 1st, 1952. On April 21st, 1995, the institution was renamed This Agricultural University. It is currently organized around 19 colleges with an enrolment of 13,451 from various ethnic groups. The university enjoys the privilege of having 882 faculty members: they include 91 professors and 350 associate professors, most of whom hold a Ph. D. or an M.A. Since the formal establishment of the university, over 50,000 This Agricultural University graduates have entered various sectors of society.
The university has established academic cooperation and exchange relations with 28 universities and academic institutes in countries such as the USA, Japan, Finland, Australia, and Russia. There are approximately 200 foreign students studying Chinese language and culture, as well as Uygur and Kazak languages.
The teaching of foreign languages is ongoing and has been developing since the establishment of This Agricultural University. The College of Foreign Languages of This Agricultural University is responsible for the teaching of English to English majors, non-English majors and postgraduates of all ethnic backgrounds.
Over the past decade, This Agricultural University has made great strides in the fields of discipline structuring, academic research and teaching. Under the combined effort of its teachers, staff and students, This Agricultural University is laying the groundwork for an auspicious future.
Foreign English Teachers Needed
For Academic Year 2009-2010
Contract period: September 1, 2009—June 30, 2010
Requirements for applicant:
--Bachelor’s degree or higher academic degrees
--With at least two years’ teaching experience in higher education institutions
--Better with TEFL certificate
--Enjoy good health and aged between 25-60
--Native English Speakers
Subjects to be taught: Spoken English for both English majors and non English majors. Preference given to applicants who would like to instruct English majors in one of the courses of “ A survey of the United Kingdom and the United States of American ", " English readings in international business" and "Language and culture”.
Students group: Undergraduate and non English major graduate students
Salaries and other benefits will be decided based on the applicant’s academic background and other qualifications.

Sample agreement with Foreign Teachers
Party A: This Agricultural University
Party B:
Contract Period: September 1, 2009—June 30, 2010
Monthly Salary: RMB
I. Duties of Party A
1.Party A will pay to Party B a one time fee of ¥ RMB for air tickets expenses. The fee will be paid to Party B at the end of the contract or at the time of purchasing return ticket, and Party B needs to give Party A the original air tickets for reimbursement.
2. Party A will provide Party B an apartment on campus with necessary furniture and electrical appliances. The apartment is for the sole use of Party B.
3.A traveling stipend of ¥ 2,000 RMB will be paid to Party B at the end of the contract year. Party B will be paid during winter holiday.
4.Party A will pay to Party B a telephone subsidy of ¥ 100 RMB per month.
5.Party A will pay to Party B a utility subsidy of ¥ 100 RMB per month.
6. Party A requests that Party B buy medical insurance in his or her own country or in China before staring the contract work, and provide a copy to Party A for record.
7. During the contract academic year, Party A will pay to Party B ¥ 800 RMB as general medical expenses, other medical expenses is shouldered by Party B him/herself.
II. Duties of Party B
1. Teaching Arrangement
The weekly teaching is 16 hours ( hours for students and hours for students) during each semester and it is 34 weeks for the whole academic year. Party B will be paid for the overwork hours.
2. Teaching Tasks
A. Teaching to students.
B. Teaching to students.
3. Teaching Objectives
The students’ listening comprehension and spoken English skills should reach intermediate level. They should be able to converse with foreign visitors fluently.
4.Textbooks
Textbooks will be provided by Party A. If Party B prepares textbooks and supplementary teaching materials, then he/she must seek approval from Party A in advance.
5. Income tax
According to Chinese Income Tax Law, Party B should pay income tax according to levy procedures of the university if the monthly income (including any overwork payment) exceeds the levy point and it will follow taxation procedures.
6. Other requirements
A. Provide relevant help to co-workers.
B. Be in class on time and observe dress code.
C. Ask for sick leave from Party A. If a sick leave is more than three days, salary for missed classes
will be deducted accordingly. If the sick leave is less than three days, missed classes should be made up on a timely basis afterwards.
D. Ask for personal leave from Party A. If a personal leave is more than 3 days and approved by Party A, salary for missed classes will be deducted accordingly. If the personal leave is less than 3 days, missed classes should be made up on a timely basis afterwards.
E Participate in activities that are organized for or require assistance from foreign experts, teachers and foreign students.
F. It is necessary to inform Party A if Party B wishes to travel outside the Urumqi area.
