Introduction to Handan Lilac Education Group

　　The famous university of Australia is coming to run a school in HanDan. In a Contract signed by lilac Education cooperation and Curtin University of Technology, HanDan lilac Education cooperation will have a cooperative project with Australian curtin University of Technology ranked 52 in the world. Which means that this will be the first foreign famous university to run a school in our city, and it also means that this is the first new brand of international and industrial education in our city.
　　HanDan lilac Education Group is an educational industry under Anju real Estate limited company [which is geared towards development]. At present there has been 4000 students and more than 10 foreign teachers. In order to widen the size and run a school according to the international standards, Wang Baomin, the chairman Board of Directors in HanDan Lilac Education Group, held a meeting with Routine Associate President of Curtin University of Technology about the cooperative project for running a school, on January 23rd in Meili city, Malaysia.Both sides plan to cooperate in four aspects. Firstly, Curtin sends Foreign English Language Teachers for Chinese students in Lilac school, make teaching plans and pass on their teaching models.
　　Secondly, Curtin runs a preparatory school in china with HanDan lilac Education cooperation. The students in preparatory school will be sent directly to Curtin for Bachelors degree through an intensive language training course.
Thirdly, after completion of their courses in lilac secondary Technology school, the students will directly enter Curtin for the undergraduate courses.
Lastly, Curtin and lilac plan to set a China International College branch of "Australian Curtin university of Technology" in HanDan.
　　Handan Lilac Education Group was established on Sept.8th, 2001. There are four schools in it, Lilac Foreign Language School, Lilac Primary School, Lilac Technical Secondary School and International Taiji Intercommunion Center. It is the first foreign language researching institute which has the qualification to engage the foregn experts approved by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts. The foreign teachers here are from the university or high school of America, Canada, Britain, Austrilia and so on.
　　The group conisists of two parts. One lies in the FudongStreet of Handan city, ,next to the GuangAn residential district. It has investment of 3000,000yuan, and a teaching building covering 2400 squre metres. The teaching builing has good equipment such as air conditioner, listening room, multi-functional audio-visual class room,and so on. The other one lies in the west and the new Handan Normal School as well as Handan vocational and technical College in the south and arcitechture technique university of Hebei province in the west.It covers an area of 350mu(about 58 acres) and makes an investment of 120,000,000yuan. The building area is more than 80,000 squre meters. There are not only the teaching facilities of classroom, listening room, computer room, libery, and reading room,ect, but also the living facilities of eating drinking and lodging, etc.
　　Up to now, there are 12 foreign teachers and 32 Chinese teachers in the group. In order to guarantee the teaching qualitt , the group engages some experienced english teachers of universities or hign school in the local place as the teaching assistances. We use the teaching method of combining Chinese and Western and "Two teachers, Two languages", that is the Chinese teacher and the foreign teacher teach together in the class. This method builds a good English atmosphere for the students and makes the students' language sense and conversatonal ability improved quickly. We receiced a very warm welcome from students, parents and the society.
　　Whitin less than a year, the mumber of classes has been up to 47,of the students to 1400 inside it and over 1,000 outside the school.In order to further improve the teaching quality, the group signed an agreement with the Management College of Beijing Teachers University in June,2002,and became into the teaching reseach base of the college. We has carried out the teaching reseach of Intensive English Teaching Research for Middle School and Elementary School Students and so on . We are trying our best to make it realized step by step that the elementary scholl graduates have the same English level as the college graduates, and the middle school students have the Engshi level of CET band 4.the teaching quality of Lilac School will be improved continuously through the teaching reasearch.
　　The mumber of the students has been up to 1400 inside the school, and over 1000 outside the school within less than a year.

　　ABOUT US
　　LiuWenxian, the principal, graduated from China Political and Law University in 1996, and he postgraduate in MBA of BeiJing University. He once was a reporter of China Science and Technique Daily and then the chief of Information Center for Economical House Development Center of HanDan People?ˉs Government.
　　ZhangHao, the vice-principle,graduated from BeiJIng Teachers?ˉ College. He has a lot of experience in the teaching: He once worked in the Education Bureau of Railway Station as one of the members in the teaching and research group since 1986.And then from 1988 to 2000, he was the vice-director of HanDan Education Committee. And in those period, he was pluralistic as a director of Reform and Research Institute for National City Education , and a vice-director plus the secretary of Enterprise Reform Institute of Hebei province.

　　Teachers:
　　There are five teachers who hold Master degree, seven teachers hold the bachelor degree, and three of them hold the band 3 certificate on teaching.
We have twenty Chinese teachers who hold bachelor degree in English and International business in foreign trade. They are in charge of helping the foreign teacher and looking for teaching plans {research about teaching}.
At present, we had carried on the teaching research .with Beijing Normal University. This association is named Teaching Research Proiect on strenghen English abilities for pupil and middle school students. We have made great progress. This association will gradually improve the pupils' English level as well as the three years?ˉ college students, the middle school students reach at the level of CET band 4, and they will be ready to speak good English and even going abroad.

　　Yang's Taiji was created by Yang Luchan who used to live in YongNian county, Hebei province and was made to fall into a pattern by the grandson of Yan Luchan after a long time research. There are many graceful stories about Yang's Taiji in China, especially the stories about its singular function to cure diseases. It makes people healthy and charitable. Yang's Taiji makes the family of Chinese Wushu more beautiful and does great contribution for the human being to make progress.
Mr. Yang Zhenji is the second son of the Master Yang Chengpu. He started learning Yang's Taiji when he was only 6 years old. In order to maintain the true Yang's Taiji, Mr. Yang Zhenji wrote a book named 'Yang Zhenji's Taiji' based on his 70 years' experience. Mr. Yang Zhenji has spent all his life to the heritage and development of Yang's Taiji.
　　Chang Guancheng, the greatest student of Yang Zhenji, started learning Yang's Taiji in the year of 1979. In 1981, Mr. Chang Guancheng received the visitors from Japan together with Mr. Yang Zhenji. From then on, Chang Guancheng started to spread Yang's Taiji. He has been to many places like Handan city, Shi Jiazhuang city, Puyang city in Henan province, Zhangqiu city in Shandong province and Guangzhou city in Guangdong province to spread Yang's Taiji. Some of his more than 2,000 students have been the key persons to spread Yang's Taiji.
　　Chang Guancheng graduated from the Physical Education Department of Handan Normal College. Then he started working in the P.E Committee of Handan city and was in charge of the development of Chinese Wushu. He used to be the vice secretary of Handan Wushu Committee and Handan Taiji Research Association, Consultant of Handan Elder's Taiji Research Committee and Shi Jiazhuang Taiji Research Committee. Mr. Chang Guancheng was named, 'Advanced Taiji Coach' by Handan P.E Office.
　　During his more than 20 years of practising and teaching Taiji, Chang Guancheng put Psychology, Anatomy, Mechanics and P.E teaching methods he learned in college into the teaching practice. He also tried to make it easy for the students to learn Taiji easily and for this he gained compliments from the students. Considering both practising and teaching Taiji to be a kind of scientific subject became the greatest difference between Mr. Chang and those traditional Wushu teachers.
　　Chang Guancheng thinks that theoretical research is also very important. He wrote several articles based on his experiences of learning, practising and teaching Taiji.
