Chuzhou No.8 Middle School, former Chuzhou Langya Middle School , was founded in 1970, it changed its name in 1995, belonged to Chuzhou city Bureau of Education. Our school covers 41 acres, building area is 12,600 meters, 22 classes , the number of the students is 1234 , and the number of the staffs is 100 .

Different schools can produce different talented people. Building up Chuzhou Foreign Language School is a major move of Chuzhou education. Our school had put

forward the purpose of building up characteristic middle school ,and it had already formed the unique English teaching and learning ,vice mayor Zhu yunxia 、 Director Zhang chunlin 、 vice Director Pan houjiang came to our school many times ,they decided to deliver the task of building up Chuzhou Foreign Language School to us after carefully investigation and serious plans. In July ,2007,Principal SunJin led all the leaders of our school to Anhui Normal University attached Foreign Language School ,they analyzed the management ,hardware facilities and scientific research etc. of this school ,then they communicated with some excellent domestic foreign language schools with the help of the Internet . Then they formulated and implemented 《 The plans of building up Chuzhou Foreign Language School 》 according to the specific realities 、 teacher courses 、 historical reasons and the future prediction.

In September 2007, the preparation leading group of Chuzhou Foreign Language School was established. Principal Sun Jin is the leader ,the members are school administrative leaders 、 directors 、 grade leaders 、 teaching and research group leader .They are responsible for the arrangement of building up foreign language school .Thus a set of administrative 、 teaching and research management for the three-in-one network has been formed quickly .

Education is the base of everything .Our school received the great support of higher-level leadership and the society .Chuzhou Education Bureau allocated special funds with hundreds of thousands of yuan to furnish language lab and multi-media classrooms .

Chuzhou Construction Bureau put 70 or 80 thousand yuan on the improvement of teaching environment .Troops from 73042 sent more than 10 experienced officers to train the new students of 2007.

The leadership group take an active part in education innovaion.

Implementing the system of teachers representative meeting ,allowing all the teachers take part in the school development plans in a fair 、 just and open principles .

Restoring the rules of staff attendance and receive the unanimous support of the majority of teachers.

At the beginning of 2007,all the students in our school were surprised to see a foreign teacher with blonde hair and green eyes coming into our school .He is Bob who is from England .In September ,when a semester began ,another foreign teacher with curly hair came to our school ,he's Jeo from Philippinese . Every Friday afternoons would always be the happiest time that students eagerly look forward to ,for the foreign teacher comes to our school on time and brings us to a new English class, Bob's step-by-step teaching methods and Jeo's gracious style are generally welcomed. After several monthly communication ,the students' oral English and communication ability improved a lot , from the very beginning ,they “ dare not speak ”、“ unwilling to speak ” to communicating fluently by using daily expressions ,they found learning English isn't difficult at all .

More importantly ,it has became a radiation source, which changed the ideas of learning English and thinking ways ,and it aroused the consideration of English teaching pattern in conjunction of the conditions of our country and school.

With the continued implementation of the preparatory work, the modes of the whole foreign language school has been set up .

English teaching and English research activities have been carried out .English teachers have achieved a lot .In March 2007, students from Grade 8 .participated Anhui “GSM” EXCELLENT English championship and 2007 annual CCTV “Promising Stars ”English contest which was held to welcome the 2008 Olympics ,winning 4 of 10.One of the English teachers ,Wan Fei ,took part in the English teaching contest and won the first prize .

Even in their spare time ,English teachers never quit learning English .VOA 、 BBC and CCTV9 English channel are usually their favorite topics .
