This Foreign Language School , the only public foreign language school in Heilongjiang Province was founded in August, 1999. In the early days, it was affiliated with Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau. Under the support of the bureau and other large enterprises, school conditions improved greatly and were rated to the nationally first-class level. In 2004, This Foreign Language School was placed under Daqing Municipal Government .With the attention , care and support of all leaders from the Municipal Party Committee, the government and some big enterprises, under the guidance of the Provincial Education Department and  Daqing Education Bureau, its hardware and software met the domestic first-class level. In 2006 the school joined the National Foreign Language School Research Society. Inspected thoroughly by national experts, it was promoted successfully to the 26^th National Qualified Foreign Language in 2008. Aiming for the best –quality service, relying on qualified educational resources, This Foreign Language School has won a number of honorary titles ,such as the Provincial Advanced Unit in Teachers’ Virtue ,National Research and Education Demonstration School, National Advanced Scientific Research Unit , National Foreign Language Teaching and Research Model School, National Training Base for Yong Experimental Experts. Though the 12-year-old school is slightly immature compared with old famous schools, it has showed great improvements and created its unique way to pursue rapid development and continuous progress for Daqing Oilfield Education.

In the past 12 years , This Foreign Language School running in the socialism educational direction has followed the principles “Languages-centered features, Balanced development in arts and science, International perspectives holding, Cooperation strengthening". The theories in practice should be practised and perfected. In the past twelve years, our school has not only perfected our concepts and put it into effects with effort, but also cultivated the actual workforce with the exact idea of how to put it into practice. Therefore, we've made great progress in founding the leaders' group and the teachers' team. Meanwhile, a number of elite teachers and subject leaders have emerged , who are well-known not only in the city but also all over the nation. They have set the long-term goals , mastered great skills, and already walked on the characteristic growing roads. In March, 2006, we made a typical speech Form the Studying Type of Teaching Research Team, Polish the Brand of Professional Subjects so as to introduce our special experience in founding the foreign languages subjects to the whole province in the meeting on school-based teaching research of Heilongjiang Province.

Under the guidance of the advanced concepts, This Foreign Language School has put emphasis on the feature of teaching multiple foreign languages, operated in public, and got the rapid development with the promotion of the power of the LOG. In daily teaching, the time that the students spend on English is more than twice that of other common junior high schools. The school English teaching is centered the textbook of the National Foreign Languages Teaching Research Society. Meanwhile, the textbooks in other editions are used as complements. The amount of the students in each class is quite small with less than 26 , each of whom can be observed closely .As a result ,the active effects of English teaching can be realized in the Chinese environment. The professional foreign teachers throughout the years help us with English teaching. Therefore, the students can fully understand the cultural background of English-speaking countries, get to know the cultural differences between the different countries in many areas, and improve the abilities of listening and speaking of the students in advance. Besides, professional listening teachers help the students acquire the same listening capability level as senior high students. We start colorful after-school activities in Russian, German and Japanese in order to cultivate the interest of students. This Foreign Language School emphasizes on the influence of environment, the meeting culture between students and teachers, the culture of matter notice, the culture of classroom setting, the culture of school environment. English radio station, English corner and campus English culture form the features of campus culture and enrich the excurricular activities. These activities has also improved the students English level to the highest rank in Heilongjiang province even throughout the whole country. In 2004, one gold medal was won in the National and Invitational Metropolis Tournament (the only gold medal in Heilongjiang Province). In 2005, two students entered for the second " Star Torch" China Youth English Talent Competition and won the only two gold medals in Heilongjiang Province. Students from This Foreign Language School entered the first National Middle School Students English TV Contest in April in 2007 and gained two gold, two silver and ten bronze medals. Four students won the reward of 16000 yuan in cash (only six students won this reward throughout the whole nation). The live match was broadcasted on CCTV 10. In May of 2007, one student won the 18th place and the starlight trophy in the Olympic Star of Outlook English Talent Competition. Two students won the the honorary title of “ the Star of Hope".  In 2009, the high school students who simulated Model United Nations MUN entered the first Heilongjiang Middle School Model United Nations Competition and gained outstanding achievements.   

They value the communication and cooperation with some famous domestic schools and universities, which paves the roads for the students’ future development. They’ve had a close relationship with Shanghai Foreign Language School, Changchun Foreign Language School, Shijiazhuang Forty-two Middle School, Mianyang Foreign Language School in Sichuan and other well-known friendship foreign language schools. They exchange information and communicate with each other. More importantly ,they keep up with the latest global educational news. The school is accepted by the world . They’ve established a good relationship with Singapore Vitoria Middle School and Saint Negre Girl School . Since 2008 six students of This Foreign Language School have won their full scholarship and will pursue their studies in Harvard, Oxford and other international top universities in four years . In order to adapt to the international environment, they have a perspective into foreign countries, establish extensive contacts with Nanyang Technology University ,University of Cambridge ,Brad University and other foreign universities and educational institutions .They cooperate actively and effectively through teachers’ exchange visits and the training activities for improving English capability levels, by exchanging students .Since 2003, the cultural tours based on the theme “Tasting Exotic Culture, Motivating Younger Talents" have been made in summer or winter vacations. Students enjoyed their camping activities in such countries as England, New Zealand, the Unite States ,Canada. Meanwhile, some outstanding teachers were sent abroad for further studies. The teachers and the students open their mind, enlarge their experiences with the beautiful scenery to see , the local customs to experience , new learning methods and perfect English to share. Through these activities, the teachers and students benefit greatly .
