This University, one of the key universities in China, is directly under the Ministry of Education. It is situated in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, which is also known as a green city and as an important base of science and education in China. Foreign teacher for language teaching
Basic requirements: 1) Excellent moral character, regular features, good health and no history of major diseases.
2) English as mother tongue, no strong accent.
3) Bachelor’s degree or higher, TEFL holder preferred.
4) With at least two-year teaching experience.
5) With certain accomplishments in British & American Literature, Language and Culture, and History, mainly responsible for the courses for undergraduate English majors and all the graduate students, such as Oral English, English Writing, Brief introduction to British & American Culture and so forth.

General Remuneration Offered:
1. Salary depends on the personal information of the foreign teacher, and the weekly teaching hours.
(Ref: A. Language teacher with Bachelor’s degree: RMB 4500 per month, 16-18 teaching hours per week.
B. Language teacher with Master’s degree: RMB 4700 per month, 16-18 teaching hours per week.)
2. Travel allowance of RMB 2200 per year.
3. An apartment with household appliances such as TV set, air-conditioner, washing machine and telephone as well as its management provided by the university free of charge.
4. Airfare for economy class (round tour) provided every year.
5. The apartment provided has free access to the campus network, whereas computer should be prepared for oneself. (The above mentioned accommodations are with accordance to the living standard on main campus)
6. In the duration of teaching here, the foreign teacher may need to deliver their lectures on the new campus (all foreign teachers live on the main campus). In that case, a dormitory is provided for every foreign teacher on the new campus for rest (the distance is 17km between the two campuses). Foreign teacher may take the school bus or other vehicle to the new campus, and a RMB 500 allowance is provided monthly for teaching on the new campus.

I The two parties,in a spirit of friendly co-operation, have entered into an agreement to sign this contract and pledge to fulfill conscientiously the obligations as stipulated.
II The duration of service is _____, i.e. from ___/___/_____to ___/___/_____. Among the duration, the first month is a probationary period.
III The duties of Party B are referred to in the Contract Attachments.
IV Party A will pay Party B a salary of ¥_____by month (not including tax). 70% of the sum can be converted into foreign currency. Party A also provides Party B other benefits stipulated in the Attachments.
V The obligations of Party A:
A Party A shall introduce to Party B the laws, decrees and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese government, Party A’s working system and regulations concerning the management of foreign experts.

C Party A shall provide Party B necessary working and living conditions.
D Party A shall provide co-workers.
E Party A shall pay Party B monthly.
VI Party B’s obligations:
A Party B shall observe laws, decrees and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese Government and shall not interfere in China’s internal affairs.
B Party B shall observe Party A’s work system and regulations concerning administration of foreign experts and shall accept Party A’s arrangement, direction, supervision and evaluation in regard to his/her work. Without Party B’s consent, Party B shall not render service elsewhere or hold concurrently any post unrelated to the work agreed on with Party A.
C Party B shall complete the tasks agreed on schedule and guarantee the quality of work.
D Party B shall respect China’s religious policy, and shall not conduct religious activities incompatible with the status of an expert.
E Party B shall respect Chinese people’s moral standards and customs.
VII Revision, Cancellation and Termination of the Contract
Both parties shall abide by the contract and shall refrain from revising, canceling, or terminating the contract without mutual consent.
A The contract may be revised, canceled, or terminated with mutual consent. Before both parties have reached an agreement, the contract shall be strictly observed.
B Party A has the right to cancel the contract with a written notice to Party B under the following conditions:
1 Party B does not fulfill the contract or does not fulfill the contract obligations according to the terms stipulated and continues to not fulfill the obligations even after these concerns have been roughly exposed to them.
2 According to the doctor's diagnosis, Party B cannot resume normal work after a continued 30 day sick leave.
C If either of the two parties asks to cancel the contract, that party must cancel it with a written notice to Party A 30 days in advance. The contract can be cancelled 30 days after the written notice is accepted.
D When the two parties reach an agreement after discussion, the contract can be canceled.
VII Breach Penalty
When either of the two parties fails to fulfill the contract or fails to fulfill the contract obligations fully according to the terms stipulated, that is, breaks the contract, it must pay a breach penalty of US $800 to $3,000 (or the equivalent in RMB), or 3 to 10 times of Party B’s salary in RMB. If necessary, the two parties can agree on the penalty exactly, higher or lower, but they have to stipulate it explicitly in the contract attachments.
If Party B asks to cancel the contract due to events beyond control, it should produce certifications by the department concerned, obtain Party A’s consent, and pay one’s own return expenses; If Party B cancels the contract without valid reason, it should pay its own return expenses and pay breach penalty to Party A.
If Party A asks to cancel the contract due to events beyond control, with the consent of Party B, it should pay Party B’s return expenses; if Party A cancels the contract without valid reason, it should pay Party B’s return expenses and pay a breach penalty to Party B.
IX The contract attachments comprise an integral part of the contract and therefore have the same legal validity.
X This contract takes effect on the date signed by both parties and will automatically expire when the contract ends. If either of the two parties asks for a new contract, it should forward its request to another party 30 days prior to the expiration of the contract, and sign the new contract with mutual consent.
Party B shall bear all expenses incurred when staying on after the contract expires.
XI Arbitration
The two parties shall consult with each other and mediate any disputes which may arise about the contract. If all attempts fail, the two parties can appeal to the organization of arbitration for foreign experts affairs in the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and ask for a final arbitration. A party disagreeing to an arbitral award may bring an action in the people’s court.

These contract attachments have equal validity of the standard contract and comprise an integral part of the contract.
Party A’s obligations:
1. Party A will endeavor to work cooperatively with Party B with the aim of providing the best possible education for the students.
2. Party A will provide Party B textbooks and teaching materials which are necessary for his /her teaching task.
3. Party A will inform Party B of teaching task, requirements and objectives as soon as possible after the arrival of Party B at Party A’s school.
4. Party A will appoint one co-teacher as a support person for Party B, whose duty is to help two sides to connect and communicate. If there is any change about the teaching plan、time-table and other relevant matters on the side of Party A, co-teacher should inform Party B in time with a reasonable explanation; If there is any requirement or suggestion about life and work on the side of Party B, co-teacher should also report it to Party A, who will reply in a reasonable period of time.
5. Party A will pay Party B’s wages regularly on the 10th day of every month. If that day is in weekends or holidays, the salary can be paid earlier or later.
6. Party A will provide the rent-free, single, non-shared, furnished accommodation. Accommodation includes bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom with hot water facility, toilet. The flat will be equipped with color TV, refrigerator, washing machine, air-conditioner, telephone, bed, sofa, table and chairs.
7. Party A will provide Party B with a round-trip ticket (economic class) at the end of each academic year.
8. Party A will pay Party B a travel allowance of 1100 RMB per semester (including the tax).
9. Party A will pay a transportation fee of 500 Yuan RMB each month as additional allowance, should Party B have classes on the new campus. The allowance won’t be paid when classes are not in session.
10. In principle, Party A will not arrange for more classes as stipulated in the contract, but it is reasonable that there be makeup work due to the rearrangement of classes for national legal holidays.
11. Party A will provide and pay all fees, in China, relating to Party B’s working visa, Foreign Residents Permit, and Foreign Experts Certificate.
12. Party B will enjoy a paid vacation if the engagement lasts one academic year or more.
Party B’s obligations:

The details about class time and assignments of each semester are listed as follows:
Giving relevant English lessons to undergraduates and postgraduates as well as develop their skills in expressing, reading, writing and so forth.
Helping English teachers to solve problems they might come across in their teaching.
Selecting, checking and polishing teaching materials, examination papers and other reference materials; assisting in recording tapes of texts and other teaching materials as well as undertaking other work connected with the teaching of the English language.
2. Party B must obey Party A’s regulations and work schedule. Party B will have the same holidays as the Chinese teachers in accordance with the school’s relevant regulations.
3. Party B should endeavor to the best of his/her ability, to provide the best possible education for the students and to support them in their English language learning.
4. Party B will submit to Party A, a general teaching plan and lesson outlines each semester consistent with the objectives provided by Party A within the first two weeks of each semester.
5. Party B will complete _____ credit hours’ teaching per week and is required to schedule a fixed time each week as office hours.
6. Party B should take part in the activities of the section of teaching and research, attend discussions on the theory and practice of English teaching, accept teaching examinations and evaluations from Party A, listen to students’ opinions and suggestions earnestly and take measures to improve the quality of teaching, and submit to Party A a written summary and evaluation of their teaching work each semester.
7. Party B should inform the International Office or the School of Foreign Studies in advance if Party B cannot teach the class for a special reason. The accumulative total days of absence from classes should be no more than 5 days per semester with the exception of illness.
8. For the reason of security, if Party B intends to leave the city where Party A’s school is located, Party B shall inform the International Office of the departure in advance.
9. If invited by a third party for lectures, Party B shall not take actions until permitted by the International Office.
10. Without Party A’s consent, Party B cannot render service elsewhere or hold concurrently any post unrelated to the work agreed on with Party A.
11. Party B shall inform Party A and fulfill the registration procedure if they have a visiting guest either from China or from outside China.
12. Party B shall pay the income tax in accordance with the law enacted by the Chinese Government.
13. Party B will keep the apartment in good repair, take care of all furnishings. Otherwise, Party B is responsible for all compensate to Party A for the damage of all items in the flat.
14. Party B is responsible for the payment of his/her own telephone account (long-distance) and gas bill. Party B must pay off all the bills when the contract terminates. Otherwise, Party A may deduct the equal amount of the unpaid bills from the travel allowance (see note 11), should Party B not have enough money to pay the bills.
Party A will abide by the Employment Agreement issued by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts when dealing with other issues on Revision, Cancellation and Termination of the contract, Breach penalty, Arbitration, etc.
